Los Merengues attacker Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to supporters for his conduct when replaced in the recent heated El Clasico win.

He was replaced in the 72nd min and displayed his frustration by heading directly to the dressing room.

The Brazilian eventually reappeared to the sidelines and, following his team's 2-1 win, attempted to approach Barcelona's youngster Yamal during contentious final whistle exchanges.

"This day I want to apologise to all the supporters for my behavior when I was taken off in the derby," the player shared on his account.

"In the same way as I have already done during today's practice, I wish to apologise again to my team-mates, the team, and the leadership.

"Sometimes emotion takes over me because I constantly desire to succeed and assist my team. My winning mentality originates in the passion I feel for this team and all it symbolizes."

He signed for Madrid from Brazil in recent years for a significant fee and has scored over a century of strikes in 335 appearances.

But his future in the Madrid is far from certain with rumors in lately stating that Real would contemplate permitting the 25-year-old leave if they obtained a suitable offer.

When he was taken off on that day, TV coverage from broadcaster the service picked him up remarking: "It's always me! I'm leaving the team! It's wiser if I depart, I'm moving on."

In his most recent statement on social media, he commented: "I commit to keep fighting constantly for the benefit of the club, as I have acted since the very beginning."
