A Pair of Suspects Formally Indicted for Inmate Homicide of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

A pair of suspects stand accused of murder after the death in prison of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) now face murder accusations and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per police authorities.

Watkins, 48 years old, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes which included the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was taken into custody following a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were seized.
